Reverend Anastasios Gounaris

The Rev. Anastasios Gounaris, also known as Father Taso, was born and raised in the seaport city of New Bedford, Massachusetts. He received his B.S. in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth in 1979 and his Masters of Divinity from Holy Cross School of Theology in Brookline, Mass. in 1983. He was ordained to the priesthood at St. Spyridon Church in New York City in September 1983, where he served as assistant priest. In August of 1985, he was sent to St. Demetrios Church in Saginaw, Michigan. It was in Saginaw that he was elevated to the rank of Economos by Bishop Timothy of Detroit, who later assigned him to Indianapolis in October 1991. Father enjoys travel, reading, and reading about travel.
